Come and join usFYJO invites new players to join. Come along to one of our rehearsals and join in or listen in - completely free! Bring your instrument and enthusiasm! We promise you'll have fun. There are no auditions, no pre-requisite music grades. Learn to play without music and develop your 'ear'. You will learn how to improvise and only 'put on the spot' when you are ready and willing. Don't be afraid of mistakes - you'll learn from them. Ages 8 to 24. Players come from near and far for the FYJO experience! Many ex-FYJO players have gone on to study music and now have professional music careers. We invite them to our rehearsals on a regular basis to give masterclasses. Fancy some of the 'buzz'?In recent years we have played at the Queens Hall and National Museum in Edinburgh and live on BBC Radio Scotland 's "Jazzhouse" show. FYJO has released a CD of special commissions which is now available for sale. We have played with the newly formed Fife Jazz Orchestra (many of whom are ex-FYJO players) at Carnegie Hall, Dunfermline as part of the 2009 Fife Jazz Festival.RehearsalsFYJO meets on Thursday evenings at 7.30 - 9.30pm at Trinity Church, Sinclair Drive, Cowdenbeath, Fife.We will restart on the14th January 2010.
